This devotional traces 35 Old Testament prophecies fulfilled in Jesus and then focuses on Zacharias and Elizabeth in Luke 1 as examples of a righteous, blameless couple God used to usher in the forerunner of the Messiah. It follows the angelic announcement of John’s birth, Zacharias’s temporary muteness, Elizabeth’s miraculous pregnancy, John’s birth and naming, and Zacharias’s Spirit-filled prophecy, ending with a challenge for believers—empowered by the Holy Spirit—to walk blamelessly and boldly advance biblical values in the public square this Christmas season.
