Jesus never told us to celebrate sin or ignore truth—He called us to speak truth with the same mercy God has shown us.

Summary

In this devotional from Luke 6:36–38, Pastor Brian Noble addresses one of Scripture’s most frequently misunderstood phrases: “Do not judge.” Jesus is not forbidding believers from discerning right and wrong or lovingly warning others when they depart from God’s Word. Rather, He warns us not to take God’s seat as prosecutor and condemner, withholding the mercy and hope we ourselves have received. The standard we use toward others—grace, mercy, truth, and forgiveness—is the measure we should be prepared to receive in return.
