Give me 7+ Minutes on your drive into work today

In a culture screaming “make it all about you,” what if the real danger isn’t low self-esteem, but thinking you’re a bigger deal than you are? Today, we’re asking a hard question: In what ways are you tempted to think too highly of yourself instead of with sound, biblical judgment? Discover how pride quietly poisons your family, your work, and even your politics—and how God’s grace can reset your mindset. Stay with this devotional and let Romans 12 reshape how you see yourself, your calling, and the public square.

Pastor Brian Noble, in this devotional from Romans 12:1–3 challenges listeners to examine where pride and arrogance have distorted how they see themselves, especially in the public square. It explains that both “I’m better than everyone” and “I should be better by now” are forms of false pride that ignore God’s grace and sovereignty. Pastor Brian urges men in particular to take a sober spiritual inventory of their private, family, business, government, and church lives, asking whether they are truly living for God’s glory rather than centering everything around themselves. He concludes by reminding listeners that God has allotted each a measure of faith, calling them to faithfully use what they have instead of envying someone else’s “measuring cup.”
