Jesus’ strongest warnings were not aimed at the broken people who knew they needed help—they were aimed at religious people who looked clean on the outside while neglecting their hearts. Before we point at someone else’s hypocrisy, this devotional invites us to let God examine our own.

Summary

In Luke 11:37–54, Jesus confronts the Pharisees and lawyers for caring more about outward appearances, religious rituals, status, and rules than justice, mercy, love, and true obedience to God. This message challenges believers to avoid a faith that looks polished publicly while allowing pride, anger, hypocrisy, or bitterness to remain inside. It also applies the warning to today’s political and public conversations: Christians must not let partisan frustration replace the love of Christ for people made in God’s image. The call is to humbly receive Christ’s correction, repent where needed, and live out the freedom and salvation found through faith in Jesus.
