Peter wanted to stay on the mountain—but God had a greater mission: listen to His Son, trust His timing, and bring the hope of salvation to the world.
Summary
In Luke 9:28–36, Jesus is transfigured before Peter, James, and John as Moses and Elijah appear with Him in glory. Peter’s desire to build tabernacles captures the human longing to make God’s kingdom fully arrive right now, but the Father interrupts with one decisive command: “This is My Son, My Chosen One; listen to Him.” The devotional reminds us that God’s plan is still unfolding through the salvation of Jews and Gentiles alike, calling believers to trust His timing rather than demand our preferred moment. Our response today is repentance that bears fruit, prayer for our leaders and communities, and faithful proclamation that Jesus is the chosen Son of God.
